I would consider myself a "casual" noodler so this is quite exciting for me.........my first 1985 50c

Its not in great condition (which is probably why it is still in circulation) but it fills a nice hole in my noodle collection.

Yes, it has had a bit of a tough life, by the looks, but it's still an '85....great pickup!

Hello all,
i started cashing my notes for coins at my local milk bar, day 1:

2 x $20 mixed $1's, and 1 x $10 10c
results

$1 2001 RAAF coin(not in circulation and low mintage 60k?

3 x 1977 10c 1 x 71 1x 72

stoked about the $1 had to look it up!and now I think back to as a teenager, working years in milk bars myself, passing up all the rare coins, notes(was getting paper notes still in 2004, I kindly accepted of course) all the test notes and errors I palmed off, because I saw it so often did not pay attention) silly boy,

moral of this story, think outside the normal coin stashes, remember when people get desperate, and are short on $ they will use anything to get what they want, and sometimes you hit a nice one :)i had a friend who once got a gold coin that had been used as a $2? gold back then was %500oz, desperate stupid people don't stop to think, I know this as I have been one, but none no more,as I seek to find some treasure I have lost!

Yes, I was a very happy lad when he gave it to me. It's probably VF, perhaps VF+ at a pinch.

I am noodling 20¢ this week (just about to start) and wasn't noodling $1 coins as such. This morning I noodled my wife's purse looking for a few spare 50¢ to make up the numbers for last week's bank returns. I found this multiple rabbit ears, a Bradman 20¢ and a Qld 20¢.
Rather a good return from about $10 of coins.

I think this one looks more like a bunch of streamers than ears.

Very Nice I am green with envy.

I noodled the coins in my purse today and found my first 2012 10c coin.
