very nice wood work on that driftwood!
I do the same.
This one while not drift wood, I found this on top of a lava flow. it had grown in a circle before it finally died. (The light brown, shiny one that is.
The darker snarled one I pulled from Lake Pleasant - it is a tree root inverted and placed in side the circular one.

Dearborn, beautiful! Love that first piece -- the finish of the outside section contrasts nicely with the darker piece. I did something similar but it had some branched arms which I allowed to encircle and "hug" a potted plant. Gave that one to a friend.
