Old school. Sony Mavica MVC-FD73 (from a previous millennium and taking the new 1.44 MB 3.5" floppy) with a B&L 7X loupe.
And yes, I did make a pinhole camera as a Boy Scout.

Iphone-+-Loupe-=-Success!

Slanted date on a Morgan dollar.
Prior to that I used a a document scanner.

A diamond buyer was using this technique to take pics of diamonds. She had a light source she held the diamond up to from the side, then held the loupe over the iPhone 4 camera lens.

She took quite good pics this way.

How did you put the drop of water onto the lens?

Also, could you post a picture of a mint mark from a Morgan dollar, with the drop of water on the lens?

I squeezed a cotton ball almost dry so it doesn't drip unless I apply a good deal of pressure to avoid over saturating. Absolutely I'll take one for you tomorrow.
