Nice silver and c/n pieces, guys...I think The Royal Mint did quite well with design and quality control during the QEII years.
Dragging us back a couple of hundred years, I've got the only Regency Period token from the tiny hamlet of North Lopham in Norfolk, and I can find nothing from there in the catalogues covering the two centuries preceding that. This1811 shilling was issued by Samuel Porter, a local gentleman with banking and retail interests, "for the use of trade" — as proclaimed on the token itself.
My specimen (Dalton 13) is fairly close to uncirculated but unfortunately it's also fairly unclean. On the upside, it's quite desirable for its rarity and has an interesting and apparently untraceable coat of arms somehow connected to Porter or one of his businesses.
