Apologies straight off the bat. Slabs and digiscope's don't get along very well so forgive the poor picture quality . 3 Florins nothing rare but these coins in UNC are become a lot scarcer to locate 1930-31-33 Graded by CGS UNC 80-82-82 respectively Around MS63-64

Thanks guys and one that literally landed on the door mat .I can finally rest in peace . A genuine untouched as struck 1887 Double florin. Would of been accomplished after first purchase if I saw the coins in hand. But these crafty sellers and picture genius can literally make a pigs ear look like a diamond encrusted purse Roman I type. Lovely coin

Double florin has a short but interesting history. Intended as phase 2 of decimalisation, after the florin ("a tenth of a pound") it fell foul of being too much like a crown and became the subject of many an "excuse my but I gave you a five shilling piece so where's my change" argument, earning the nickname "barmaid's ruin". It fell from favour and was discontinued. Strangely enough it was never demonetised so if you took one to a British bank nowadays you could still get the face value of 20p for it. Not a good idea!
