Eirinn go Brách, I'm retiring from acquiring! Please note my new temporary signature below about the upcoming sale of the Irish portion of my collection of early 19th-century British tokens. Meanwhile, this silver shilling token, Dalton 11, was issued in 1811 by one Robert Boothby Hoff, a noted man about town in Holbeach, Lincolnshire. Mays cites contemporary directories that describe Hoff as "...grocer, draper, seedsman, chandler and local agent for the County Fire [insurance] Office."
Without imagery or illustration, and showing nothing but prose text and a decorative wreath, this is one of the Regency Era's dullest silver tokens, prosaic enough to make one wonder if citizens in Lincolnshire actually stopped to read their small change!

Thank you. I am starting to collect farthings again after a gap of almost 50 years. My budget as a young teen was very limited. I am trying to add some slightly better quality coins than I was able back in the day. Obv:- GEORGIUS III·D:G·REX., Laureate, draped bust head right Rev:- BRITTANIA, Seated figure of Britannia facing left, trident in left hand, shield with Union flag resting on left, olive branch in raised right hand, legend above, sea behind with ship on left Date:- 1806
