Picked up a box and 2 rolls of pennies at the bank today. Found 8 Canadian from the 1940's but no wheat cents. Best find was a 2006 magnetic no logo. Nicest one I've found so far. I also went through the penny books and my spare pennies to look for errors/varieties. Found 3 1953 SF and a 1979 DBL date.

@ nickelfr33k

Interesting stuff , regarding the 100% nickels you found - were they round or were they the 12 sided ones ?

Picked up 24 rolls of pennies at the bank today. About half of the rolls were American cents. Found 6 wheat cents and a 1940 Canadian.

Back to hunting through vending machines for American and shiny coins - found a duplicate State Quarter that was nicer than my old one, and an acceptably shiny 2013 loonie. Still looking for that 1991 quarter...

A relative had a garage sale, so I got to roll all the coins (along with an old change jar). I found all this:
Canadian-Roll-Hunting

There are two rolls of copper pennies and 10 nickel nickels (one is 12-sided: 1961).

Canadian-Roll-Hunting
I found these two, along with a newer Monticello nickel and four American dimes.

Some commemoratives, including a grimy 2008 Remembrance quarter. Apparently, acetone gets the colour right off.

Like so many Canadians, the family goes to someplace warm in the winter, while I play in the snow. Anyway, there were two Mexican 5-peso coins, including something cool: a commemorative! I've never found one of these before. Mexico's Centennial was in 2010, but we were too busy issuing Olympic commemoratives to notice - they also did a Mexican States series! One day, I hope to have all the Provincial Quarters (with the Nunavut toonie), the American State Quarters, and the Mexican State Pesos. Then I'll get a huge map of North America and try and fit them all in. (There's also a Japanese 47 Prefectures 500-yen series, but that's getting expensive...!)

Two wheats! Lucky me. The 1929 is kind of blackened, perhaps to avoid confusion with the Quarter-Sovereign? (That was a joke.)

Instead of a 10-cent coin with a boat on one side and the Queen on the other, I found a 10-cent coin with a boat on one side and the Queen on the other.

I got my first 10 rolls since schools started, and it my be the best so far...
131, 100% nickels (32.75%),
1 replacement (1957),
3 twelve sided,
2 other young queens,
5, 1991,
3, 2001 no P,
3 Americans (including my first S mint mark),
And 3 dimes... in the same roll, the clear type of rolls

I'm confused - what's a replacement nickel?

Lucky! Have you looked it up? It could be NIFC.

Picked up 10 rolls of dimes and 10 rolls of quarter today and much to my surprise, 2 full rolls of quarters were various years silver, as well as 1 full roll of dimes. I feel like a kid that just found a treasure chest!

@ nalaberong,
By replacement I meant for my date set, my last 1957 nickel had a hole in it.
And for the S mint mark... all signs say that it was made for circulation. Partly because it was made in 1969.
