here's a highly detailed shot of just the date. I think there may be something but I'll leave that to you guys who I'm sure are more expert in this than I am. BStrauss3, thoughts?

I'm going with crud (sorry). At least for what I thought was a big obvious re-punched 6 at 3 o'clock. That was clearly crud/shadow.

I would think the ding on the 8 is PMD.

W/o the book, I couldn't guess further and since I really only have one LC in my collection as a type piece, there are other books ahead of it on my list ...

Thanks BStrauss... no problems at all. It's still a nice coin in my opinion no matter the variety. I actually think it might be N-10 but I've just started digging into it.

VF35 leaning to VF40 and a very good buy. Would buy them all day long at that price for that grade of coin.
