I think that 1501 is a date with a heavy curse or malediction. Found coins of 1500 and 1502, and a coin with date range 1501-1506. And no: not 1501!

I've actually been looking on ebay for a 1501 coin but there's nothing with a clear date.

I took a quick look on the bay as well. Lots of 1501-1506 coins, and lots of 1492-1501.

We had to borrow a coin, with permission, that was posted in another thread to get past this date in the original (first edition) thread. I hope we can get a direct participation this time. I was hoping the second edition would catch the original thread soon, but now I wonder if the third edition will catch up to the second edition first.

Hopefully that won't happen. I think we'll move along eventually.

Maybe if someone bought one of those coins... Don't feel obligated, but it's an option.
