Just got back from Costco where this little guy showed up in my change. Always fun to find Wheaties in the wild.

Until recently, I was in the coin operated amusement game business, and prior to that, the payphone business.

I would always sort through my coins and every month I would find some silver coins in the mix.

My best find was when I found 40 silver US quarters in one game, some of which were from the late 1800's.

This week, in a roll of quarters from the bank was a 2009 Virgin Islands, 2009D Puerto Rico, and a 2019W Lowell Mass quarters. Last week in a roll of nickels was a 1983P mint luster with nearly full steps.

You all have me looking at my change now...

I thought this penny was something from the last few years and almost put it into the Dunkin Donuts tip-cup, then I noticed the date of 1966 and into my pocket it went.

I can't reproduce the color it has though... it has an almost red-rose tone in the middle of the rear and also on Abe. Maybe it is wear? Or possibly a little bit of toning. Not sure and again, I couldn't get the color to show up in the photos (had to use the flash). Could try using the scanner I suppose...

Since I am new at this, I looked up 1966 PENNY on ebay and GEESH what a range of prices!! LOTS of listings saying that they are "rare" and " no mint mark". And then LOTS of listings of minty ones for almost nothing.

ebay......... USE WITH CAUTION! ;-)

Today I received the 2019 San Antonio Missions quarter.

It was the final quarter from last year I needed from either mint.

Now the hunt is on for the Philly minted versions.
