I think this is the lowest mintage coin that I have, at least for a US issue. Will have to look more closely at my dark side items. 1850 Half Cent Total mintage: 39,812

Just off the top of my head, I believe my lowest mintage coin is a 1944 2 Piastres from Egypt with a mintage of 32,000.

This is a meeting medal, not a coin. Sorry if it does not belong on this post, but it is certainly the lowest mintage in my collection. And I needed a reason to post this. There were only 100 of the silver medals made, and I have 2. My Grandfather and Great Grandfather were both there. My photos also took the life out of it. They are really quite attractive.

Quote: Sorry if it does not belong on this post, It works for me!! The reason I started this thread was to see some of the coins seldom posted, or that didn't fit under regular thread titles. Many of the tokens and your medal certainly fit in. I also started it with a VERY wide range to fit in so everyone could participate (200 million or 2). So, lets see some more "rarities"!!

Not sure if this is my lowest mintage but it's the first one that comes to mind. 2005 1oz Silver Maple Leaf with Tulip Privy Mark - Mintage 3,500.

Ive got a unique roman knocking about (probably a single die made, couldnt tell you how many are issued from each die, but they reckon the 3rd century denarius molds lasted for 20,000 strikes - this was an early issue from a usurper, so the die probably produced less than half that amount, if it was used). Thats a Carausian coin of Hercules - the pose is known but the legend entirely novel.
I also had a unique coin which was likely never issued, the die perhaps created to test a new design (it is the only coin known with the bust type - perhaps the emperor vetoed it and allowed the test strikes to go into circulation). Thats another Carausius, Moneta reverse but with a bust showing Carausius riding a chariot. However it came to exist, it certainly was not ever struck with intention to distribute - such oddities are much sought after and are always reported - it is only minor varieties that are often unreported due to their similarities to other issues.

Many of my world coins, I can't find mintages for, but for those I can, these are the lowest. Both of these are 1 Lira coins from Turkey and have mintage of 5000 each. Also, this $10 coin from Australia has a mintage of 5000. Steve

Very nice! The Newfoundland Ten Cents that was my previous avatar is my second lowest mintage coin, recently bumped by the Half Cent posted above.
