davep New Member United States 13 Posts	Posted 02/05/2010 11:56 pm Reintroduction: Grew up in Manchester, lived in Ohio since 1984. I have collected diversely for years, coins, stamps, fossils, minerals, military medals, cap badges buttons. Mid 1970's got into bottle digging, what an addiction that was. From there specialised somewhat in buying glassware, than got interested in pottery (because I knew nothing about it). Love yard sales, flea markets etc. I try to learn about everything to some extent but I guess I am most comfortable with glass. My one regret is that back in the 1970's I never got a metal detector. Back then in England and wales you could virtually detect anywhere and sites of interest were beyond abundant and farmers etc were generally friendly. Heres a tip, around towns and cities look out for rivers or canals being drained and dredged,dig dow and the old bottles are everywhere and generally perfectly preserved. Someday I will get that metal detector. Well' I'm having an adult beverage and I would sincerely like to raise my can to my Aussie brothers and sisters and new friends around the world.
