I'm new here but not new to collecting. Since 1975 I lived in rural western Kansas. Last month I moved to Kansas City KS. I collect mostly world coins and some U.S. Are there any other collectors in the KC area?

I'm from central NC and I just heard about this forum about a week ago. I'm glad I joined. This forum is very active and something I've been looking for, for quite some time.
I've been a collector since 1975 and I like to collect US and world, coins and notes. I also collect some stamps too.

hello
I'm from cleveland texas, I'm 32 years old... I need advice? or help?
yesterday after shopping, I come home and look through all the coins, or change left over...
and I see a dime from 1981, that's not centered in the stamp - on the face side, there's part of the edge with 2 ridges on the top --- on the back side, there's a part with the edge having 2 ridges again.
i forgot what messed up coins cost, it obviously has been circulated, I don't know how to clean it properly, or even if I should... I don't know how to find out it's worth?
i haven't taken a picture of it yet... but I will soon.
thanks for reading...

, jinavicky and mick3641! jv- Best post with pix in the modern error forum. From your description, I'd guess slightly off center, not likely worth more than a buck.

Hello, I am from Manitoba Canada. I was happy to find this forum. I have been collecting coins for many years, but do consider myself an amateur/hobby collector... I am now trying to learn and discover more.

I'm new here at CCF, in the Twin Cities.
I am wondering if you must pay tax at coin shows when you buy, sell and trade in Minnesota.

I was born in and have lived in NEW ZEALAND most ofmy life-with a years exception in the UK and 2 trips to the US(pre sept 11th-out of principle I would not even transit through with all the overkill security and gross invasions of privacy). My numismatic interests are mainly ancient coins from Rome and Greece(Republican coins, esp silver denarii, though I am getting some semis and quadrans etc), some Imperial coins to the reign of Trajan-I may decide to include up to Marcus Aurelius but no farther-also the silver gets too debased and I like good metals, and I also collect other not so rare coins with nice designs (Eire, Isle of Man etc) and also German coins pre 1945.

, KiwiMike666sta and WeejunsSince1935! Mike- Too bad American citizens don't have enough sense to do the same. About a week boycott of flying until they get rid of the TSA should do it.

Welcome KiwiMike666sta, I get a lot of your coins here in Tasmania, nearly completed a 20c collection from the coins I find from circulation :-)
