I just got back from Europe, where I picked up some coins in Prague and in Salzburg. I was trying to figure out one of the coins I bought and saw that someone on this site was asking about the same coin. I found some additional info that I wanted to post on that topic. It's an 1822 US Large Cent with the word "STEEL" stamped on it. It looks to have been stamped at minting time. Any input? Report this Post to the Staff

If anyone has the "Brunk guide to C/S coins" I would appreciate a little info on scarcity?value. Its in very good condition and has "STEEL" counterstamped on it on the reverse side. Then went to s. ca after that it was back to Il. then moved to beaumont Texas back to Il. then to Indiana then back to Texas. Moved back to rural illinois south eastern part then to Lebanon Ky. for a while. Then back to illinois and then moved to Iowa lived in Cedar rapids,Ely, elberon, Tama ans Chelsea Iowa.
