cwb Pillar of the Community United States 3463 Posts	Posted 06/17/2015 07:53 am 1969-S cents have a high rate of Mechanical Doubling on them. I am thinking that is what you are seeing. MD ( Mechanical Doubling) is a flat, shelf like secondary image, while a doubled die is raised and rounded. Report this Post to the Staff

I once looked at so many coins without a break, that when I went for a drive all the lines in the road looked doubled. The real doubled lines looked quadrupled. Without close-up pics, I suspect you may be suffering from the same affliction. Report this Post to the Staff
