I still have to go through the rest of the Eisenhowers with a fine tooth comb to find Peg Legs and hopefully one more 1972 Type 2 coin. Called the bank that I got them from just a few minutes ago to say thanks again. She told me that she will ask every week if there are more Bags of Ike's to order.  I hope I tapped into a vein, because going through those Ike's is a trill! More updates and pics tonight |

If you do get more bags, let us know what you do with them. I know the coin counters at my bank aren't made to handle Ikes so if I were to ever be able to get a bag I am unsure what I would do with the rest... $1000 is a lot to hold on to. Very nice for you though!

I have wrappers, so I guess I'll have to wrap them and return them to another bank. I'm going to keep them unless the bank calls me again and says they have more bags.

Ah right forgot some banks (never any that I have gone to ever) take the rolls back. Mine have to all be run through a coin machine so that may be just my problem then...

Astonishing Score!
I've been trying for a while to get Ike. I took in the forum that I stumbled across through this thread hoping that might help her. I'm hoping the box of cookies I brought in will help convince her as well :D
Any advice in trying to get my banker to order them?

I've found a lot of Eisenhower Bicentennial Type 1 Coins. All of them are Denver Mint. I just found a Type 1 without a mint which means its from Philly. Is this a rare coin?

Pretty sure it's a roughly 50/50 split between Type I and II. The current theory is that Type I was made in 1975; Type II in 1976. Not sure if there is any overlap however.

I've never found a Type 1 Philly Bicentennial in circulation. I read somewhere once (can't remember where) that those were only issued in the 1975 mint sets. So that might give some credibility that the Type 1 Bicentennial Ikes are your "1975" ones.

well I know now that it isn't too rare. I've found 4 1976 Type 1's without a mint mark (Philly Mint). |

Ok here is the most up to date tally: 1- 1987 American Silver Eagle 1- 1972s Silver Ike 6- 1971d Friendly Eagles 2- Lowball Ikes 2- 1972p Type 2 coins 2- 1973d Ikes 1- 1973p Ike 1- 1974s Proof Clad 1- 1976s Type 1 Clad(really nice, looks almost unc) 1- 1976s Type 2 Clad 1- 1977s Clad 1- 1978s Chewed up Clad 6- 1976p Type 1 31- 1976 Type 1 57 good coins out of 2000!  Actually that isn't true, alot of the coins are in really nice shape. I bet I could find at least 200 more really nice BU,AU business strike Ike's.  Some I've already showed pictures of, I'll try and get more pictures up of others. Edited by Mr Click
