Man after stumbling across that form last week from this thread the dream has been made real!
I just walked out of my normal bank with 1500 in Halves and 2k in Ikes. Best of all shes willing to get them for me when I want now!
Pictures to come!

@Mr Clink - You have any tips for going through em? Did you sort them by year then search them> I was trying to think of an efficient way to do this. May look into getting some small gallon containers to split them into.

First I stacked them all and looked for obvious silver coins. Then I put them in stacks by years and mints. As I went I found all the "s" mints. After I had them all separated I looked through the 1972p's for type 2. Then 1971d for Friendly Eagles. Then 1976 bicentennials for Type 1's. Tell me if you come up with a better way.

That is a similar approach I was going to take.
At least there's not to many years you have to separate out and double back and look at...
I do need to get a bigger bucket to toss em all in after I look at them. As well as some wrappers.
What did you do with yours wrap and return or sit on them?

I love silver. Don't get me wrong, But the fun thing about click clacking Eisenhower dollars is finding the different rare varieties! Those coins are worth more than the silver ones! (unless you find a 1893s Morgan or something)

That looks like fun. Ike's are sort of a specialty item; some banks will order them and some won't. You're lucky to have gotten so many all at once. I wish you luck in your hunt!

Funny enough last week when I was talking to her and she was asking how much I want I said;
"Well depends on how frequent you can get them. Ideally a min of 2k a week. If its monthly or quarterly I want at least 5k if not 10k."
She just stared at me like W T F. Then another banker said oh 10k wouldn't be a problem if that's what you want.
I haven't started going through them as I just got home. Need to do halves tonight to get them back to the bank tomorrow. I ordered coin wrappers for the Ikes cause at a min they will need to be rolled to be returned if I don't find another avenue to get rid of them.

Ok so I went to my local WF bank this morning and asked them if they could order me a bag of these. They told me it is impossible because they are "out of circulation" and they can no longer be ordered. I told her this couldn't be true as I know people online have recently ordered them from their banks. She again told me the same exact thing, that they simply can not be ordered.
Do you think she was blatantly lying to me? Or does she honestly believe they can't be ordered? Should I insist that she gets on the phone for me and get me an official response from the federal reserve? This is a branch I have had a relationship with for 2 years now. I don't like being lied to. On the other hand, if she really believes they can't be ordered, then am I not doing her a disservice by allowing her to believe that when it's not true?
Edit: I just called another WF, one of the bigger branches here in Houston. They gave me the same exact explanation - they are impossible to order. LOL.... Maybe I should open an account with a new bank.
Edit #2: Called a BoA, they said they don't order directly from the Federal Reserve, that they use their own vault services, and that they can only order by denomination, not specific types of dollars. This sounds like a more truthful, realistic explanation to me.
Edit #3: I called another bank and they told me what BoA told me. However she actually volunteered to do some more research for me and get back to me! First helpful person :)
