Quote: 1/24 thaler - such a convenient denomination! At this point in time in this part of the world, it was equal to 1 groschen. Like @pepactonius, I have been working on extending my partial OFEY collection back into the 15th century (but am not as far along, and have constrained myself to certain regions in Europe). Here is a schilling form the Duchy of Pomerania dated 1492. The lands of this former duchy are today partly in Poland and partly in Germany, though historically it has stronger ties to Germany, and the city where the coin was minted is well into modern-day Germany.

I would guess Saint Michael, though I don't know of use of his image on other Saxony coins.
