1603 Bishopric of Strasbourg, Charles of Lorraine Vaudemont, 3 Kreuzer. 1.87 g. 21mm. This coin was minted during the Bishop's war (1592-1603) that opposed the Protestants who had elected Johan Georg of Brandenburg, and the Catholics with Charles of Lorraine. After 1604, Charles remained Bishop, but Strasbourg remained Lutheran.
