I did get your sense of humor:) Moe indicated that there are 32 letters and 9 words, so there should be 32/9 or 3.555... letters per word.

Moe145: it is a pretty neat puzzle....

question: do the two lines each represent a group of words?

i.e. - there are no characters at the end of line 1 that actually belong to coded words in line two? (and of course vice versa)

That's the way I took it typecoin, but if you can't figure out the encoding mechanism, it doesn't matter how it's broken up. I've tried six ways from Sunday & nothing works. I'll keep at it though.
