I love them! I just got a Series 2013 $1 F* today in circulation, mint condition. It was from the first print run of F* notes from this series, which was a run of 6.4M notes. Too bad it wasn't from the second run (250k) or the third run (100k). Oh well, at least it only cost me a dollar!

Even though the $2 76 I star is key, I would also get the 2003A F star as well as 2009 B star while they are cheap.
Still cannot figure out the 2013 series yet...too many short runs and Don't know enough on the series.

Lowest so far is 2009 B star with ONE run of 128,000.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion Ceylon62.

I try to buy as many as I can, that come into the local shops.

It has been a while since I checked for some good pickups on ebay,
I might have to do that this weekend.

As many have already stated, I recommend just using modern stars because so many people hoard them. They can be fun to collect because it is something abnormal you find in circulation. I have a few myself but unless they are uncirculated consecutive stars, just use 'em.

I keep them because I like them. I am not knowledgeable on paper collecting so for me it is the cool factor - I just think they are a neat thing to find.

They are modern today, but wont be down the road at a point. Will they appreciate much in value - well that has a lot of variables so who knows. However, there was a time national notes from 1929 were "modern" as well. So for a 1-2-5-10-20 star I will keep them and pass them on down that road in the thought that one day they will prove valuable in inspiring a descendant to take up the hobby. More than that I am not overly concerned about.
