I suppose there is a bright side...
They are an easy circulated set for a child to learn the hobby with.
I did that with pennies though, and it cost much less.

On a related note:
I noticed last night that not only is the metal content in a quarter worth the same as a Prez$, but the metal content in a nickel is also $0.07!
Now there is something to hoard along with copper cents.
You have .02 profit for every one you hold.
Start your children/grandchildren with NICKELS!
Teach them the hobby AND growth potential.

Too funny!

Have you ever bought a roll of SBA, Sac, and Prez... Then mix them all up and spend them side by side?
Imagine getting a mix of the three in a transaction...
Mix in a Kennedy if ya hafta.

In my opinion the coins are not beautiful but I think it is a great way to get the new generations interested in coins. My kids love them and are collecting prez dollars Sacs and of course the quaters. I think the new programs the mint is running can be a little cheezy but hey whatever keeps the people checking their pocket is good for the hobby.
