Mcm is at it again, selling 2015 P silver eagle label coins for hundreds. I though every one was waiting for the final us mint statement on this. Does mcm know something we dont. There selling ms68s and even ms67s now. I guess some just want the label anyways even if it gets void later.

What is this? This is not coin collecting anymore, it's coin stupidity. $7000 for a $17 coin. If you don't know what to do with your money donate to starving children.

The reason I get angry at this label, ms70 issue is that I got ripoff back in 2007 when I was a new collector. I bought the 2007 presidential NGC pr70 for $300 from Robert chambers at coin vault. now I know this coins are not worth much above face value, should have bought one set from the mint at $14.95 instead. I came to peace with it and forgave Robert chambers after he passed away a few years ago. I guess he was just doing his job. I do remember he was offering refunds for the difference to the people that bought them at $1500. So maybe he felt bad about it and wasn't a bad guy after all. I quit coin collecting for like two years, then I came back I guess but with more knowledge about what to buy. This collectors that are falling the same path I did are gonna get very mad when they figure it out that they got ripoff by a $17 coin for $7000. This is the dark side of coin collecting. I saw the light, this label collectors will also see it eventually.

Collect for the joy of it and you might actually make some money. Those who need 3rd party affirmation or speculate on coins will typically lose.

When is the mint gonna release the final statement on the 2015 P issue. Will it even matter if the mint confirms that there's no way of knowing which coins are from the P mint. Maybe the label collectors won't care, they just want the label to say it, that's weird. It will be a nothing to see here thing or a riot trying to return the void coins. Won't be surprise if some say " well it says it on the label, that's all I care about even if it's not true".

Not many people will return the coins to the TPGS to get them reholdered due to the counterfeit Morgan situation in 2005 and how much the ones not turned in now go for. So my guess is in a decade or two there will still be many in slabs and as such they won't even get a premium for the slab above a small oddity premium

What happened in 2005 with the morgans? What I mean about a riot to return the coins, I mean they will try to return the coins to the sellers like MCM not the 3rd party graders.

Do you consider ICG graded coins as raw ungraded cascade. I have a 1941 Walking Liberty half dollar in icg ms63. The coin looks like the grade is spot on, should I sell it and buy an NGC graded or just keep the icg. I don't like the mismatch slab in my NGC slab collection.

Just for fun I type the NGC verification serial number on one 2015P silver eagle NGC ms70 slab that sold for $10,000 on ebay. the verification number on NGC verify website shows it's value at $60. Where do they come up with the $10,000 price?, is it an imaginary price, meaning even NGC thinks it's only a $60 coin? So I guess its only worth thousands to crazy label collectors and not in the real world. Like if someone will pay you $1000 for your pair of jeans it doesn't mean their really worth that, just to a crazy person willing to pay that for some weird reason. The serial number is 4540196-015 NGC. Why don't this buyers check the verification number to check the value of the coin there buying.

In 2005 it came to PCGS's attention that they had been slabbing contemporary counterfeit Morgans as originals. It wasn't their fault. The "micro-o" family of the late 1890s to early 1900s are very deceptive and were only caught after a big submission of them came in. In 2005 the tpgs asked for them all to be sent back to be "corrected". Many complied and some did not. Today the ones still in top 3 slabs command much higher premiums than raw examples.
Yes. I consider icg coins as raw. Doesn't mean the grades can't be accurate on occasion though.

So what do you recommend, crack the icg ms63 Walking Liberty half since the grade isn't accurate, or leave it in the slab for coin protection. If I want to sell it, will sellers just offer me as if the coin was an unc ms60 raw coin instead of graded ms63? If this is the case then why people even bother sending coins to icg for grading, might as well leave the coins raw.
