Given what Bobby said I guess the best approach would be the 48 hour rule. On what Jbuck said, I have no doubt that between all the members we could complete this excluding major rarities or expensive scarce coins. But as of right now the participation rate isn't there. I'm also not so sure that locking the thread and starting a new one when we get hung up on a year would be a good approach. Seems too tedious. Too many starts and stops. My 2 cents.

I personally like pepactonius's idea of a certain day or days of the week at noon forum time. Perhaps twice s week like Sunday and Wednesday or something to that effect. I just think that 48 hours is a little to short on time. I honestly, depending on the year, am only going to have 1-3 coins to post anyway from here on out. We do need to figure it out soon and come to an agreement! Meantime, shal we move on to 1893?

Quote: Maybe it would be easier to advance the year on a schedule? For example, Monday, Wednesday, Friday at noon forum time. Ok I totally missed this suggestion. I agree this would be the easiest solution. Here is my 1893 CC. It was my first CC and I've owned it for 32 years. It was a present for my 9th birthday.

Thanks Toot! It's not the prettiest, has some rim dings and was cleaned a very long time ago but it has tremendous sentimental value to me. I've been rehabbing it for the last two years by leaving it sitting out on my desk. It has toned darker during that time which is more inline with the grade. If memory serves, I believe the price paid for the coin in 1988 was around $50. I wanted a Carson City Morgan and it just so happened that the only CC the local coin shop had was a 93. Back then you take whatever you can find and I think I was lucky that it just happened to a 93.

Quote: If it sounds good then why move to 1893? Thought I'd move the thread along as we were thinking about what to do next. Anyway, I'll post something tomorrow, but I'll just go along with whatever method you guys figure out about how the thread should be run - as long as we're having fun, like jbuck said.

I know he has recused himself, but I will side with jbuck on this one. Skipping years/mints/coins directly contradicts the original purpose of the topic. It cannot be "Complete" if coins are skipped. I know that uber-rare coins cannot be expected, but it seems that more available coins (primarily gold) are the ones missing. I am not a participant, but that is my view.
