Very interesting set of tokens! Were they given to employees for use in a factory store?

Medals related to my adopted state: 1976 Nevada ARBC Commemorative Medallion: Minted at Carson City, the ARBC medals were issued in gold, silver, copper, and brass. The brass example above is 1.5" OD. 1964 Nevada Centennial Service Club Medal:

Quote: t360 asked: Very interesting set of tokens! Were they given to employees for use in a factory store? Great question, t360. These were in use from 1903 - 1922. When field workers (mostly migrants) brought a bucket of produce or barrels of oysters to the receiver, they were given a token as a voucher. At the end of the week, they could redeem these for "Good For" tokens, which could be spent at the company store or exchanged for a lesser amount in cash.

To be honest, none of these are very eye-catching.

Very nice medals, NumisEd. I'm guessing the Copland piece is a reproduction of the Congressional Gold Medal he was awarded in 1986, when, as I recall, Harry Nilsson received one as well, albeit posthumously, to round out the musical contingent represented in that year's class.
Gershwin's came earlier, I believe, but I'm not making sense of that "NCS 1972" inscription on your silver medal. Was it part of a larger Franklin Mint set?

daltonista, the abbreviation "NCS" stands for "National Commemorative Society". They sponsored the production of medals commemorating subjects of American history. I am sure @commems can tell you more about it.
