Nice 2 dollar coins, found that foriegn coins are worthwhile, just curios. Still remember when I found a 100 yen as a kid got so excited over nothing ;). The us State Quarters are at less interesting.

rescued from our till yesterday . there was a few coloured $2 coins too but the wife already spirited them away.
these 50cent coins look a lot better in the hand the pic seems to highlight tiny scratches and dings , but they must be there, also I think the LED desk lamp I use to take the phone pics with makes the scratches stand out more .

Hey all, got 3x 10$ 5 cent coins on thursday, I got 3x72 high 2 half decent, found a 76 that looks like it was recently taken from a mint set and I found another line crack, I already had 2 and there all different yrs but the line thickness looks the same, any ideas how it happened.

Also what sticky beak yrs have people found, so far ive found 96, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2006 & 2007

Ok I think the penny just dropped lol, so the polisher spins on top of the dye but after a while 1 of the wires break off, that would explain why the lines always run in the same direction

I have managed to form an almost complete set of commemorative issued for circulation coins since the introduction of decimal currency in Australia in 1966.

Almost all taken from pocket change.
Cost? Face Vale
One exception: the 50 Cent Incuse Flag given to me by Trout - (that one was for free. )

About 150 different types, in all denominations:
5 Cents
10 Cents
20 Cents
50 Cents
One Dollar
Two dollars

Also have a few commemorative issued for circulation banknotes, (not many types issued for circulation).

Almost all of them are in AU60 or better.
