I actually like the loon;
Even though I miss the $1 bill, I have liked the "loonie" since I was first showed one by my uncle at my Grandparentshouse back in 11987.
I prefer the pre-plated ones because I like the look of the alloy as minted - the plated ones look too "yellow" to me.
My favorites so far:
1992 (double date loon)
2002 (double date on reverse)
2002 "centre ice" gold plated/double date
2003 'old obverse' (I actually don't have this one yet! - I liked the 1990-2003 version of the Queens image)
2012 'old composition' (last of the nice ones IMHO)
