I paid $5 for this mini-lot of two Princely States coins from Mysore, India. A tiny little no date (1750-1780) elephant 1 kasu from Mysore. KM-153 type, crescent (Kannada numeral 1) above elephant, reverse of lines and circles.   An 1837 20 cash of Mysore, XX CASH MEILEE reverse var., C193.2; obverse is the Tiger of Mysore.   Showed this in the exonumia forum but I think it's worth putting up here. This is a depression-era scrip from Hal's Tire Service in Oregon and printed on tire rubber. It's so rare that the standard catalog couldn't come up with a picture for it much less a price. I'm now trying to see if it can be preserved under better circumstances. |

A souvenir from the recent Grapevine Texas show - Mexico 8 reales "SUD" of 1813 with Morelos countermark. KM265. Over 40mm diameter. I had seen examples on ebay but in hand it is pretty magnificent in its crude nature. Issued during the independence from Spain fighting period. Apparently exists originally without the Morelos countermark. Then countermarked to validate the coin as Mexican and not the original Spanish issue. I read somewhere that these were holed and the countermark was applied to the holed area. Other online notes told me that the KM listings have errors, that the Oaxaca designation is not accurate. I'm still reading online. I don't have the serious printed books on the subject. Edit: I acknowledge that some of my remarks are subject to correction.   Edited by 999fine
