I had a feeling that the price of this coin was going to be over the top. But not by that much!. Someone stuffed there hand a little too far in the money jar.

I've always been leary of selling on ebay, with costs eating up my profits. However....on ebay Poland I think I could definitely cash in on my "spare" coins. And if that ugly thing sells for $52, a whole lot of my stuff might suddenly become "spare".

Information: from this round onwards, until further notice, the exchange rate will be set as $1 = 2.1 zl due to the strenghtening of the dollar.
Minor changes of the dollar's value (less than 0,1 zl) are not taken into account, however if the dollar continues to strenghten, more adjustments shall be made in order to achieve an acceptable level of accuracy regarding the prices.

Round 8 begins now and ends on the 24th at 2:55PM Forum time (20:55 Polish time).

This time I've found a problem free 1858-O half dollar.

Guess-The-Price!-The-Original-Season

And to further complicate things,
A Hint:
I assume this is a VG-8 grade. This and my 1853 are priced exactly the same in this grade. However, this coin was sold for significantly less than what I had to pay.

I paid 2.38x the listing price (what is something around the usual Polish overpricing of US coins).
This figure was counted according to an accurate reference book, which will remain unnamed, so that the game doesn't become too easy.

Ok first the estimated US price...then multiply by 2.1 for Polish price...then factor for rarity...then what would DL pay?... divide by 2.38...check melt price for silver...add for condition...drink more coffee...high price...low price...flip coin...too many variables
