mysilveryears - your four unidentified coins are 5 millim coins from Tunisia. Still current as far as I know. Here's an example of a circulated aluminium coin - a 1976 One Dong from Vietnam!  |

I could never remember the source, but cereal boxes (or Littleton "free coin" offers) make sense. In other metals I have similar stacks of the Bulgaria 1 stotinki 1962, Lebanon 1 piastre 1955, Turkey 1 kurus mid-1960s. And yes, well- conserved examples of these common coins can be lovely. 1999 Chile one peso, an aluminium coin smaller than a dime, and worth about one-tenth of an English penny when I received it in change in 2004!  |

That Monaco coin is striking! (same blanks as the French 5 F?) Belgian Congo Ruanda-Urundi (now, THERE's a mouthful) 50 Centimes 1955. (They coulda just called it Belgian East Africa following the French example to the west). This guy is smaller than a U.S. dime, and I didn't know it had a small die crack reverse till I took the photos.   Edited by tdziemia
