Love the old 1935 fractional from Uruguay "Caletan" I saw this final "Seafarers & Explorers series" from Portugal posted here on this thread a while back & felt I had to get one too. So I settled on this P-187 500 Escudos (ships are portrayed on the reverse)

Quote: Thank you walk2dwater. It was quite hard to find such a good one. - I have no doubt, but your patience has rewarded you kindly. That is one of the challenges of the hobby- to put off until you can find the grade (& price) you can settle for. It's a tough pill to swallow but honestly, "less is more." If you can hold off & save up to acquire something in AU to Gem (with a 'Q' for original) then the note typically shows so well. Always ask yourself will this new acquisition have "eye appeal?" Unless you're into the low # rare - not ebay ' rare' but really "scarce," where you may have to go after specimens or settle with "VG" to "Fine" & part with a truckload of cash on a dirty rag. Brilliant tough fractional from Uruguay! Congrats!
