Must admit I took an interest in them when they were doing the rounds. I've found the "Fake pound coin database" quite useful over the last few days (Thank you, Red). I am told, however, that the early dodecagonal pound coins with the reeding on the left panel below the Queen's head are in fact legit and are quite common for 2016, less so for 2017, and rare for 2018. If anyone wants to disagree feel free! I'm never too old to learn... Report this Post to the Staff

You might just be able to make out the "latent" 1 in the reeded panel. (You may have to squint!) Below is a pic of the micro printing near the edge.
