It's good to see all the activity.
Has anyone determined what pairs will potentially sell for ?

I haven't heard of anything to do with Value. From what I know only one pair found and it was by a single owner of both notes and hadn't heard of him trying to sell. I'm guessing that if a matched pair was sent to a grading service to be authenticated, then was sent to Heritage Auctions, as the only graded and authenticated known pair, it would be rather high. But that's just my guess, which means nothing. I wonder if we called Heritage and asked them, if they would give an estimate of what they could sell it for, hypothetically? Your one of the best experts here, what do you think? Unless someone is very lucky and stumble on a matched pair, it's very expensive trying to purposely find a matched pair, I know that from my efforts in buying these potential matches.

Although I've only been collecting paper money a short time, I've found that value is directly associated with interest. No interest, no value. I own a modern US note printed on paper NOT manufactured or supplied by Crane & Company. To me that's a Big Deal. After all, it's the paper. Crane has been the sole security paper supplier to the BEP for over 150 years, so having a $1 FRN not printed on Crane paper would seem to be important or significant .... but that's not the case.
Personally, I probably wouldn't pay over $100 for a CU pair. But, that's just me.

Ok, here it is!!! The Second Matched Pair of Identical Serial Numbers has been found!!! I will put more detail in a follow up post of all the new Bills I just received to add to the project, but this post is devoted to the Match I just received today! The first bill was put on the list by a collector in New York..... 2013 B* Note Serial Number B04730718* printed in DC. Today I received 2013 B* Note Serial Number B04730718* printed in Fort Worth TX. This is only the second match pair of Identical Serial Numbers known by the group that's been working for years to find matched pairs. How exciting, let's keep up the good work fellow CCFers and find some more pairs. Can't wait to see how many more we can get. More to follow, and can't wait to hear your thoughts! Is this exciting or what?

Oh my Goodness, we did it again!! We just got a third Match! And the match I got today was with the same guy in New York that I matched yesterday! Hopefully he will be up for a trade so we can each actually have a matched pair! That would be great! Let's keep it up everyone! This is so exciting and fun.

Hi SteveInTampa, To my knowledge the gentleman in Washington is still the only person who actually owns a matched pair, and I haven't heard anything about him wanting to sell. My matches are only 1/2 of a match, someone else owns the other half. If the day ever comes that I actually own both sides of a matched pair, I believe it would be my personal top item in my collection and can't ever imagine selling it. I've never sold even a penny out of my collection, which I think might make me part hoarder I'm really enjoying working with the group on this project, and Mr Huntoon in gathering information for his articles. I'm hopeful more CCFers will become aware of this project and get hooked like me in trying to see how many pairs can be found as a collective. As far as value for a pair, it's like you said previously, it depends on collectors interest and knowledge of this unusual topic that will set a $ value. At this point, I think it's value is more a personal satisfaction goal. It's priceless to me. I've spent way more acquiring bills to contribute to the project then I could ever re-coup in selling a pair if I ever get one. I have to thank you for bringing this topic to my (and others) attention, it changed my attention to a new personal collectible. Out of curiosity, sure, It would be nice to learn what the dollar value is if anyone ever does establish one, but it won't change why I'm doing it. My goal is to see Mr Zegers project flourish and how many pairs can be found! I've got lots of popcorn ready!
