I guess I do try to say something worthwhile now and then. Honestly--this place helps me enjoy this hobby all the more, as well as provide an outlet for my interest of history, education, and above all share some good will with other people. After leaving 10 years in a rather nasty corporate world, I make a point to reverse that trend here--if that makes sense. Just a few reasons I'm here--and appreciate the contributions of other collectors. Ok, enough of that--I'm enjoying reading these links, keep'em coming!

Some of the most distinctive posts that I always check in on are the daily diary of finds from Mr. NoHope, southern Yankee and some of the other full time MD'ers that post there finds. Since I have to pick one, I will choose NoHope's most recent successful gold find day. https://goccf.com/t/38736Although this forum has more to do with coins than Metal Detecting, how many of the Numismatists on this board have not considered buying a detector after seeing these finds.

Quote: This has got to be my all-time fave Oh yeah! The CR-xx scale! Since you posted the original topic and therefore acted as Kurt's muse, I think you should get credit for that one. Quote: Great topic jbuck! Thanks! Those feelings have not changed, I love this place!

I nominate the World Error Coin Gallery concept. (I hope this is not a repost, though I haven't checked the other nominations yet).

Quote: I nominate the World Error Coin Gallery concept. Thanks for that I'm glad that idea got through--and that everyone likes it. I'll post more to the gallery soon from collector's finds.

Hmm...dunno, but there will sure be more distinctive posts to come! If I were playing, I see a dozen more or so I'd nominate. The contest will run through December, and New Years I'll review the posts and decide the winners.

Ok, my favourite thread is one that's still going strong at the moment. Has some good moments in it and witty remarks. Had me laughing out loud, and the Mrs looking in to the office like I had lost it! If you haven't had a peek, take one now. http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...LY_ID=309915

I'm nominating this thread on posting Greek letters. I've been trying to do that since I joined this forum!
