There are so many ways to enjoy this hobby, with various budgets. You found what you enjoy, and it's within your budget, so I say press on and have fun!

Sounds like you're retired. As to coin shows; you are a 3 hour drive from New Orleans. Even closer to other large cities. Consider making a road trip to a coin show somewhere.
I too am retired. I've made a few 3 hour drives to coin shows, making them a mini-vacation. It's not that expensive. I've learned a lot, met nice people, saw a lot of great coins and currency, and had a good time.

All those shows had dealers selling Lincolns, raw and slabbed. The show will probably have a list of dealers attending, so you could research them before going. Who knows? You might find some besides Lincolns that catches your eye!
