Hildesheim, 3 Pfennig dated 1712: Or at least that is how it was described 21 years ago when I purchased it. Oddly enough it wasn't until today that I took pics and examined the coin under strong magnification. Now I am not 100% sure that the last digit is a number 2. If this were a 15th Century coin, then I would be certain that it was a number 4. Any thoughts out there on which is correct?   "If you climb a good tree, you get a push."

  France, 30 deniers ("mousquetaire"), 1710-AA This is (by far) my oldest coin listed in the Red Book! Unfortunately AFAIK modern research suggests that this date wasn't actually issued for the colonies (some other dates/mints of the same type might have). |
