great adds to your collection Huminist! Quote: How about the 1974 P+D+S Small and Large Date I have those, but the type 1 and 2 1974-S proofs? That would be a 'normal MM' (type 1) and a 'doubled MM' (type 2) but wouldn't that just be an RPM? but VV does not list one for that year/mint.

Yeah I don't think I'll be going this route. I'm not really a completionist personally.

Yes, yes I have. I had weighed the option of starting a second set for fun, but a Memorial cent only album. I found an album on ebay that is the Dansco #8102, but this one doesn't stop at 2009. It stops at the proof for 2016, so it is clearly an older issue. 5 pages long, and I could add an extra blank page for Shield cents after 2016 if I desire. I'm not sure yet, though. Here's the thing, I like my initial set as it is. I don't really want to add in the proofs and all that, though. I was looking at it yesterday, particularly the memorial cents. But I thought it would be cool to start a second set for just Memorial cents, with proofs included. I think I could get behind this. The thing about Memorial cents is they are fun to go through IMO via CRH. And honestly, none of them are really hard to find IMO. The only ones that have been extremely hard to find so far for me personally are the 1970-S small date, 1960 small date, and the oddly rarely seen for me 1974-S. Any thoughts?

If you want it, go for it. Modern proof cents are pretty cheap.

Agreed, go for it, you could most likely find 90% of them coin roll hunting..

Actually, I recently came up with another plan, depending on how I'm feeling. When I complete this album, I will potentially "upgrade," my collection to a Dansco 8100. Then, if I actually decide to do that, I will use this existing 7100 album and build a new Memorial cents set from scratch, and I will also probably do the "short set" of Lincoln wheats, starting at 1935, the third page. But, we will see how it goes. I like the idea, though. I did something similar with Jefferson nickels and honestly got kind of bored with it. However, there are SO many coins in the Lincoln series, so many varieties, and altogether the Lincoln cents are my favorite series to collect. It has been super fun. Looking through cent rolls I feel it will probably never get old for me. In my mind, it makes sense to upgrade the organization of my main set, so I'd rather spend the money on that, as opposed to something that is kind of secondary. I suppose like Dearborn suggested, I could also re-sell the 7100 album. But, being how much I like Lincoln cents, I really do imagine I could still get some use out of it. That said, I'm kind of bummed because I haven't made any purchases lately for this set. Haven't had money. Obviously, bills come first! Oh, also, I've been too busy buying books for other sets! Lol.

Perhaps! I am hoping when I get caught up again a bit that I can start really filling out some of the first two pages of Lincolns. I thought about doing all at once, one page at a time. Without the keys, of course. But uh, that might take some considerable money.

Thanks, Dearborn! The thing I like about the prospect of "upgrading" to a Dansco 8100 album... It's a HUGE set with tons of coins. It's 9 pages long. That's why I was initially drawn to collecting them in the first place. So many varieties and tons of coins in the series. I really can't think of any other coins series' that are 9 pages long in length. Even my 7100 album is 8 pages long, and that's just with business strikes. That said, I look forward to some more purchases in the future. I'm still hunting that pesky 1970-S small date, and I think it will be the first "expensive coin" for the set on my radar.

Quote: I really can't think of any other coins series' that are 9 pages long in length. As far as I know, it is the only one. Mine only has 8 pages and ends with the 2007 cents. This is fine by me. My custom album has 2008 (Memorial), 2009 (Bicentennial) and then 2010- (Shield). A nice progression.

I have a few now that are 9 pages, but then, I added to them to make sure I had everything that was offered then for those years..

Quote: I have a few now that are 9 pages, but then, I added to them to make sure I had everything that was offered then for those years. The prospect of working on an album like this is awesome IMO. The Washington quarters album from Dansco was also an 8 page album. I am uncertain whether I want to dive completely into Shield cents or not, especially since there seems to be uncertainty of their future. The Shield cents IMO are definitely the least interesting out of the three variations of Lincoln cents since 1909. But, being more recent, they are still able to be acquired fairly easily in almost UNC condition... Something to think on for me
