I can see 5K an ounce. I own and sell natural placer gold nuggets. I am raising my prices on a daily basis! 3 months ago, I was at $105 per gram. Now, $175 per gram.

a friend texted me this evening with this:
CNN reporting consumers waiting in line worldwide to buy gold. Also announcing that this is signifying global economic uncertainty and fear.
'worldwide'? even here is the US? I wonder how true that is.

'worldwide'? even here is the US? I wonder how true that is. Its true here ; Its true everywhere. Worldwide ? We in the west, in America, Europe, Japan, Australia, and a few others, have always lived in a warped bubble where paper with ink on it was considered valuable and right now were just waking up to the fact it isn't. In much of the world fiat currencys aren't worth much and when even the mighty $USD starts to slip hysteria begins. Because $USD in these countries has always been their path to gold. You really have to see it to believe it with the importance of gold in these society's. Were talking about the precious metal who's real worth goes back thousands of years, generation after generation. Gold is revered almost like a God and even the poorest familys will hold gold in a hiding place to be passed on to the next generation. Most fiat currency, and the banks that hold them, are held in contempt. The real bank is gold.

Right on the mark Silverskunk. Many people around the world have experienced a currency collapse. The younger people in those countries are told about it by their older family members. USA has never experienced it before, I'm afraid too many in this country will wake up too late. The only thing that will work will be a complete currency reset. Wipe out debt and start over. In the mean time, those with gold and silver will do well.

Saw a nice 16g nugget for $2000 last week vermontensium. I passed. I'm guessing it was Australian from the red dirt in the crevices. It was shiny and I didn't like the shape.
I accumulated nuggets when they were around $50 a gram and satisfied my nugget urge. The nicest are from California. An old hydraulicked nugget from French Gulch, beaten and rounded. A fresh nugget from the Klamath, with lots of quartz still attached.

thq, that's a decent price for a 16 grammer right now. I will be on a gold claim near Kingman this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Been pretty productive with metal detectors, my preferred method of prospecting. I found a .71 grammer there last time. I also like the El Paso Mountains here in California where I secured a .81 grammer. Australian nuggets are some of the highest purity in AU. They have that almost orange look to them. Anyway, wish me luck!

My dealer has been more than fair with me over the last 11 years vermontensium. There was no discount on the big nugget, but he sells small and dirty/quartzy stuff for 10% below spot.
The bigger nuggets I mentioned came from dealers in Redding and Placerville. The Placerville dealer is the one who had a line on the Klamath River dredged nuggets. The Redding dealer had that hydraulicked nugget, but never had another one in the times I visited. I like it because it's evidence of what hydraulicking recovered. Most of it went to refining.
Good luck on your hunt. If I was younger dredging in the Klamath would interest me. There's big fresh material there waiting to be found.

Quote: Waiting to see if $4400 is attainable this week. Well, seeing as how it has now dropped to below $4200, maybe not. But, who knows whether this is the end of the run or simply a minor correction?

Quote: simply a minor correction right. it's just cooling it's heels before the next liftoff. take a breather, stretch, refill the popcorn bucket, etc. don't forget: we just saw gold take a 4-month break (apr-aug) before ripping a thousand dollars higher. no top yet. patience.
