Well, I'm amazed it went for the price it did. I did a good bit of research....problem free EF40's were going anywhere from 980 to 1400, with MS coins starting at 2000 & going up. I know it's in a PCGS genuine slab, but figured it would reach at least half of a problem free example.

As for the low sales price, I think it is because the pictures are not enough to show what the problem is. Sure, it looks like it was dipped at minimum. If that is the case, the buyer got an excellent deal. Maybe the coin has some other gouges hidden by the photography, so it is a gamble; one that the high dollars will not support. |

I agree about the not-so-good-pics. That's where the three day return policy would have come into play, assuming the seller would have been easy to deal with. |

I am looking for a very tricky coin. Can't make it too easy.
The decision on the coin was it was either cleaned or dipped because it was marked genuine with no grade. My first take was that is was counterfeit and PCGS blew it!

I'm assuming this coin is not a current auction. I'd like to know the approximate time it was purchased. Here's the appropriate rule: Quote:
