Very nice!

- with jbuck!

I had a +balance on my Paypal account so I decided to pick up a few World notes. I'll start with the "low hanging fruit" & work my way to the tougher ones later.

From Burma:
This little 1 Kyat P-46:

I would like to pick up more of these older notes from Burma as they're large & very old-school, colonial classically designed notes. Very under-rated IMO.

From the Philippines:
This 1 Peso P-142b which seemed elusive to get in UNC for a while, finally became available:

& from Tonga:
P-19c is the most accessible version in UNC:

(Now all I will need are the 1/2 Pa'anga (easy) & the 5 Pa'anga (tougher & likely expensive))

Fantastic additions!

-Thanks jbuck!

Here three more I picked up in the past month or so.
This 1000 pesos from Argentina is a Series B P-274c (seller's image):

This next note is from Papua New Guinea. It is P-14g a 5 Kina. Not sure why but the 5 Kina is a much tougher denomination to source than either the 2, 10 or higher for PNG. Must have been a "workhorse" note & many were too circulated to keep.

The last note should line me up well for tomorrow "How Far can we go...?" thread. It is a P-27 100 Dinara from Yugoslavia:

Although it is large format & has the French feel for design, it is fairly common & inexpensive.

-Thanks guys!

Here's 3 more I picked up. The 1st is a 1000 Gulden P-151 from Suriname which would later be replaced by the P-155 2004 $1.00 (lopping off 3 zeros) due to hyperinflation:

Here's an example of the small, green-white Surinamese $1.00 note which was replaced by the large, colourful 1,000 Gulden. Although only 14,000,000 P-151 were issued it is much more common than the diminutive, 2-tone, P-155:

Although the precursor note is much prettier to the eye, I really like these unpopular "successor" notes (just like I like the 1st Euro which was also quite unpopular) since collectors often dismiss them. Here's a bit of background on the Surinamese Dollar:

The 2nd note is this hand-signed 5 Cruzeiros, P-142 from Brazil:

The 3rd note is this 1 Peso, P-108c from the Dominican Republic:

I see numbers like "P101" or "P1a" on some descriptions of the note. What does it mean?
