My brother visited the USA in the 1980s quite a lot. He got the $10 bill in change (probably in the second half of the 1980s) and returned with it to Germany. As it was an (approx.) 50 year old banknote back then I asked him if I could have it. I could. I put it in a drawer and forgot about it. It stayed in the drawer for roughly 30 years. When I did some house cleaning a few weeks ago (what else could one do during the height of that darn pandemic) I found the bill. Even though it's not in a particular good state I'll keep it. Memories... P.S.: Yes, I am fully aware I am ''stretching'' the theme of this thread with a banknote that was in a drawer for 30 years...

Today I received a Barr bill in circulation. That is right a 1963B $1 bill. I could not believe it. Not only was it an old bill but a bill that was only printed for one month.

Quote: I noticed a thread over on the Collectors Universe forum ( PCGS) that featured a $2 note received as a tip. Solid 1's on a $2 Dallas (11) note with an H11 front plate number. I tried desperately to buy it, with no luck.

Yesterday, I withdrew some $20 and $5 bills from an ATM as spending money for the week. One of the $20 bills turned out to be a Series 1995 in good shape, with minimal creases and imperfections. I'll probably hold onto it as I rarely find small-head $20 bills in good shape anymore.

In line at the grocery store the other day, I watch the customer ahead of me pay with a 1985 $10. After it got placed in the till, I made sure I got it back as change.
Lastly, after finally getting ahold of a large deposit someone brought into the bank this week, I finally went thru the whole stash. In it were many small head $100's and modern pre-colored $100's. I think my best find was a 1988 $100 with the serial number 01011995. I think that classifies as a birthday note?

Today in a bank withdrawal I received a 1993 $20.
It is nice to see these old small headed series bills in circulation.
Mr. Jackson has earned a nice quiet retirement in my collection.
