save every single BU cent I find. Each one costs me one cent and it will eventually be worth more than one cent. Since I don't plan to sell any of my collection, my kids or grandkids . . . will reap the benefits.

That being said, anything after 2005 must be gem BU, or back to the bank it goes. For 2004 and earlier, I will save choice BU coins

Just image if your grandpa saved every BU cent he found over his life.

Oh my goodness... If my grandparents saved EVERY BU coin ever that would be FANTASTIC... I would be so excited to have such a collection.

I just came back and read this thread...... then do a quick check at few of the one I have.... they are not that good compare to the earlier copper cents.

Nice 85, Erik.

I'm still looking for all of these, of course.

Since the thread was active I finally found a nice chGem '84-P. It is highly PL and nearly flawless except for a couple tiny plating bubbles on the reverse. I found a companion piece from the same die pair that is nearly as nice with a little light marking but no plating bubbles at all.

This date is very tough in PL. It is tough without bubbles. It is tough with nice surfaces. It is a little tough with good strikes. It isn't easy without marking. To find all these on a single coin is almost a miracle.
Time don't fly, it bounds and leaps.
