VG8 Very Good- Over 75 percent of crown bands and jewels are worn away. The hairline, beard, and mustache all blend together. The ermine collar of the coronation robes has lost all detail.
F12 Fine- Detail on all the highest points have lost considerable detail. The central crown bands, with jewels and pearls of the crown are worn away.
VF20 Very Fine- The central crown bands, with jewels and pearls of the crown or 50% worn. The ear, beard to the right of the ear, mustache, eyebrow, and ribbon bow all show wear and loss of detail.
EF40 Extremely Fine- The bands and jewels of the crown have lost their rounded contour and are flat. The eyebrow, tip of the mustache, and ribbon bow are worn. Mint luster is gone.
AU50 About Uncirculated- Slight traces of wear with 60 to 70 percent of mint luster remaining.
AU55 About Uncirculated- Very slight traces of wear. Mint luster is still present but starting to show signs of breaking.
MS60 Uncirculated- No traces of wear. Hairlines, contact marks, and blemishes are present on all parts of the design. Luster may be disturbed but it still highly present.
MS63 Select Uncirculated- No traces of wear. Attractive luster, with minor surface marks.
MS65 Choice Uncirculated- No traces of wear. Nearly perfect. May have very minor hairlines or handling marks in secondary areas. Full luster must be present.
