Australian Collectors Where Are You?

I was quite surprised to see such a large amount of Australian coin collectors from the USA!

Gippsland, in victoria Australia. Been collecting for approx 15 years I mainly collect Pre decimal Aus banknotes and coins, collect decimal Aus banknotes and coins also. I read and try to learn about the collection I was left originally- still have a huge amount of research to do! since have been a collector and love them all.
I have a small amount and small interest in other random,and ancient coins from around the world

but in 1966 many were more interested in LSD

Hello rggoodie, I doubt that you would remember me as I have been an inactive member of this forum for more than 10 years.But I remember you my friend.

I still live in the Redlands as they now call this area, just south east of Brisbane.

I was cleaning up my home when I came across my coin collection hoard, which sparked my interest again. I had collected a ridiculous amount of coins and now wondered what they are worth and what to do with them.

For instance some uncirculated 2005 Australian 50 cent coins with the coat of arms. I believe there were only 30,000 of these minted in a two coin set with a United Kingdom coin and distributed in the UK. A 30,000 mintage is extremely rare. I had to buy my sets from the UK, years ago when they were released. I suspect most of these 50 cent coins are in British collections.

I'll have to try and learn to use this Forum again and post in the appropriate forum.
