Ok so lots of opinions on security on displaying or not displaying your coins which is good , but has anyone thought about latent damage to your coins/boxs/coa in the sunlight/dust/smoke , I really dont know much about it as most of my coins are stashed away but I do want to display more of them but am a bit concerned about long term damage from fading coas/colored coins etc, etc. Thoughts?

Mine are kept in a closed cabinet in the basement, in a dark corner where the sun cannot reach. I have a dehumidifier that works 24/7 during the humid months of summer. I also place an Eva-Dry dehumidifier in the cabinet. We have a smoke free house.
I have been collecting NCLT, MS circulation coins and banknotes for over 20 years. They all look the way they did the day I bought them.

mine are out, away from sunlight, still in cases, in their OGP. Dust,, ehhh doesn't seem to be a problem, I clean often anyways lol

Mine were in my custom built cabinet in the walk-in closet... Most of them are sold now but this is where I kept them, away from direct sunlight and humidity.   |

Thank you all for the comments. The cost was less than $100 if I recall. I used cheaper pine for most of the major pieces, plywood in the back and base. The frame and doors I used harder maplewood. Took me a good weekend to build, and lots of beer...

That's really amazing c_c, because I have always found that the more beer involved the less likely you are to wind up with something as nice looking as your cabinet. Plus there's that whole alcohol/power tool thing...

I gotta admit... it looks very sweet to look down on your desk and see a sea of silver and gold lol much better to have them out in their glory than packed away in a dark cold safe :( lol
