Correct, but it might make the coin worth $50-$75 instead of $3-$6.
I would not be risking much.

There is no way to restore dates or mint marks on silver coins once they are worn away it can't be done. If there was someone would be buying up all the dateless Standing Liberty quarters and using this method to restore the dates and selling them in the marketplace. CoTW is likely thinking of restoring the dates on nickels which can be done. |

MeadowviewCollector is correct.
You can not acid date a silver or copper coin.
It only works on nickel.

look up the four known "D" die reverses. this is not one of them. not a "D".

Regardless if it was or not, I really couldn't see adding that thing in my collection. When la coin gets so bad you don't know for sure what it is, why take chances.

Chemicals used to acid date a nickel attack the copper in the coin, so should work on coin silver due to the copper content. It would work but would be slower due to way less copper in the coin.
