The reverse is beautiful, but I think MS-63 based on the obverse.

What do you think a fair price for this would be?

A graded 1885 CC GSA MS63 sells from $675 to $725. I would put the value of this coin from $650 to $675. Check the ebay sold listing and you can put your own value on the coin. I am not seeing much of an upside of the coin grading at MS64, and on a bad day the coin could grade MS62.

Thanks guys,
I think I'm going to pass on this one. Buy price is $625 which seems fair but after grading fees I'm not sure if I can't find a better example for not much more money

It makes a few kissy-kissy noises toward a 64, but I think I agree with the vast majority at 63.

I think it would have a pretty good shot at a 64 with a TPG. The reverse is a 65 for sure.

$625 ... is a pretty fair price for this coin.
I would also like to know the condition of the
box and COA.

Grading from pictures is not a exact science, but most of the trime
most seasoned collectors will agree within two grades.

Why would you need it to be graded?

For me .. this coin has a lot of luster ..
Fields are nice .. reverse is very nice.
But .. there are a lot of hits on the cheek.
The cheek is the most important area of a Morgan,
The main focal area .. where your eyes go first.

MS 63

As others posted .. on a bad day MS 62

Some very obvious mint bloom scuffing on the high points, both sides.

MS63.
