Fabulous summary commems of the 'near miss' of 5 different Texas reverse designs. While it is fun to consider what they might have been .... I'm pleased as a modern collector to not need to acquire them.
Thank you for sharing from your vast storehouse of knowledge .... much appreciated indeed.

I have one question: what was the sale price for the coins at the time?

Quote: I have one question: what was the sale price for the coins at the time? Prices for the Texas half dollar varied with the year of issue: 1934: $1.00 per coin (only Philadelphia strikes were available) 1935-37: $1.50 per coin / $4.50 per PDS set 1938: $2.00 per coin / $6.00 per PDS set

Quote: As interesting as a Texas series might have been, I think it was wise for the Senate to stop the Texas request in its tracks... Probably, yes, but as Texan I would love to have seen the possibilities!
