Strong copper composition? Nickels are indeed 75% copper & 25% nickel but,
that wouldn't make a difference here. Your coin has extreme environmental exposure/
damage, as noted above.

Technically you are correct, since a nickel composition consists of 75% copper.

But I agree with the others that this is a badly environmentally damaged coin.

It'll be worth 5 cents whether you clean it or not, but maybe it'll be easier to spend.
