Nice topic! I'll have to go through my world notes collection yet again. I'm sure at least ONE vingnette has a lighthouse!

I really love lighthouses! I went through my collection and found a few. - Among them is the "Lighthouse of Lighthouses" on the Dutch 250 guilder note, P-98a. There's another one on the front of the note. - There's also one on the Bermuda 5 dollar note, P-29b, which is also featured on P-51a. - One is somewhat subtle on the Argentinian note, P-362a. - Beautifully situated on a high cliff, the Saint Corbière Lighthouse on Jersey, P-27a. - The "Hanois Lighthouse" is on the Guernsey 5 pound note, P-56a, among others. - Finally, the 18th-century Maiden Tower (K#305;z Kulesi), or Leander's Tower, in the Bosphorus in Turkey, P-186.

That 250 Gulden note is extremely valuable. I only was able to buy one myself when I started to make good money.

Bumping this topic with a polymer Bank of England £20 note. The lighthouse is at Margate, where the Turner Gallery is located (Turner's portrait is on the reverse). (My photo taken on a dull day out of season!)

Great note, NumisEd! I went to the Netherlands quite a few times in the 1980s and 1990s but couldn't afford to save anything higher than a 10DG note from circulation!

I forgot about that one (& have a £20 with a BL prefix but didn't scan it). Quote: The lighthouse depicted on the note is the "Westerlichttoren" in Nieuw-Haamstede. That is a beauty @NumisEd! -thanks for sharing!

Nice examples of lighthouse notes. They remind me of my Dad, may he rest in peace, he was a big fanatic of lighthouses, he had them all over his house.
